There was  I sitting on top of the Skrrid Wednesday  enjoying the sunshine and the 20-30mph westerly when a man appeared carrying a much modified Opus ( extended fuz and 4.3kg) .When I had recovered from my amazement at randomly meeting a fellow Dser I found out he was from Germany on holiday.  Then another man appeared carrying more gliders and then another! In all seven more anothers turned up.turning my quiret idle into a slope fest.
Best speed of the day 215 mph K2. Anumber of models went over 200 and a D80 made 190 on only the new owners second flight. I also met Bella Europes fastes lady Dser with a PB of 173mph.
Pictures are not the best

That is a surprise.

apart from our group, there's very few others that I know that go up there.

But it is a well known sight. I was wondering if it is the guys that often make the pilgrimage to usa in april?

Hope to see you up there soon Geoff!

Bit of a heads up

Some birds nesting on the Skirrid means is closed to flying for March / April.

Hi Will,  Hope you & family are well.
Any details / dates from /to re birds nesting on the Skirrid or a link?  I understand our German Ds friends are possibly coming over about that time.

Was wondering if you would maybe have details of whom to contact for further info?

These dates seem a bit vague.... What birds will be nesting and only March/April.
