I have just been given some old RC gear and among it are two Simprop Mini Servos. still in their boxes and packing. They have a weird plug and I want to change to JR plugs, but the wire coding is strange. Red, Blue, Black. in that order. Red , I assume, is positive. That would make blue negative and black Signal? Strange to me. Before I ruin either a servo or a Rx by wrong Connections, can anyone remember the correct codeing?Assuming with old German products is not recommended!

I'm pretty sure that Black is the signal wire on Simprop.

If red is +ve & correctly connected then it should be safe to try either way with blue & black then swap around if first way doesn't work. AFAIK that's why the standard is for +ve to be centre pin on servo plugs that are capable of being inserted wrong way round.

Just to confirm, I asked my German friend who is a retro RC enthusiast:

Hi Phil,
The color code on the Servo conector is:  red = +(positiv) ;   blue = -  (negativ) ;  black = Signal
I have attached a picture with the connector code.
I am glad, that I could help

Thanks very much for the diagram. useful for future reference!
